I'm A HUGE lover of books!!

Right now I'm reading 'Thanks To My Mother' by Schoschana Rabinovici. WOW! Dreadfully sad. Heartbreaking. Tears rolling down my cheeks sad. I don't cry easy. Books and movies can make me feel really sad but I'm not one to cry during them. And then I read THIS book!

It's about a Jewish girl of 8, who in 1941 is captured by the Germans. They invaded her Lithuanian city of Vilnius. She tells in her own words what happened to her and her family. She and her mother were able to stay together the entire time they were in the camps.
What strength these amazing men and women and CHILDREN had! It's so incredible to hear what one will do to survive. To LIVE. How even someone who is the most gentle and calm person under normal daily life will become a wild animal to get even the smallest morsel of food.
Could you imagine standing naked, after been "given" a short, freezing cold shower, outside in the freezing winter? For HOURS!?!?!?!? Having to do the "death march" with your young child?!?!?!? Begging your child to not give up in the living hell you are "living" in.
One part of the book that touched so much and gave me bone chilling goosebumps was the following words.....
(One of the good German solders was able to save a women named Niussia but not her young, young son, Rafik, who was going to be taken away from her to be murdered)
He (Hans) went to Niussia, pulled her by the arm, and tried to persuade her to stay. ( at the labour camp)But Niussia wouldn't let go of Rafik's hand. When everyone was being loaded onto the truck, the guard came to take Rafik, and Niussia went with her son, quietly and resolutely. Together, hand in hand, they climbed into the truck.
Hans was still trying to persuade Niussia yo stay; he said that her young son didn't have much longer to live anyway. But Niussia, who was already standing in the truck, said loudly and firmly, in purest German, "IT IS WORTH SACRIFICING MY WHOLE LIFE, SO THAT MY SON CAN FEEL SAFE AND BE AT PEACE FOR HALF AN HOUR!"
Those were Niussia's last words.

OK all teary again typing it out! COULD YOU IMAGINE??? There was also a women in the book who had to CHOOSE between her 2 children, they made her choose!?!?!?!?

My grandparent's, my dad's parent's lived in Holland during the war and had my 2 uncles at the time. My dad was born in Holland shortly after the war. My grandfather didn't like to talk about the war, for obvious reasons, but my grandma was very open about it with me and I asked her many questions and documented her words and dates.
My grandfather worked for the Underground and a few times the SS came barging into their home. No knocking, but barging in and demanding that my grandfather leave with them. Each time my grandparents didn't know if he would live. My grandparents had phones hidden in their home, which the monsters tore apart a few times. But they had them hidden too well for the idiots to find.
Once my grandmother was pretending to wash dishes because they had some parts in a jar on the counter. They came into the kitchen tearing through the kitchen looking for parts and she started to scream and wail and she said she was acting like a crazy women and the SS literally looked at each other and walked out the door. YOU GO GIRL!!!! She said the anger that her and my grandfather felt when the SS walked into their home was overwhelming. Could you imagine someone barging into your home and breaking things and going through your stuff and you know that if you do ANYTHING these monsters will just shoot whoever and not give a shit?!?!?!?
They stole my grandmother's hope chest that her father had made for her. My grandparent's had it full of soap, towels, food etc...after the war my grandparents where allowed to go to a huge building where there were hundreds of peoples personal things that were taken from them. And there was the beautiful hope chest that my great grandfather made. I have it now and it is one of the first things I would grab in a fire (after my children!)

So I LOVE books like these. It blows my mind how humans can treat other humans WORSE than dog's! That's why I think it is so important that we do not forget!

I got into a cat fight today..........

not quite a cat fight, but more on THAT b---- later.

OK, so I wake up in a near panic because I'm running late for A's (Andrew)playschool. Poor child was fast asleep and it was 8:10am. Lately they both have been sleeping in, bless their hearts! So I wake him up and we go downstairs to have a very quick breakfast when the phone rings and I find out that school is a no go today. OK so I tell the boys to get ready anyway and we will head out to get some salt to make play-doh and some crazy glue to glue together their Lego castle that takes us literally 2 days to put together but is so cool that I had the brilliant idea to glue it. Yes I know the whole concept of Lego is to be able to take it apart but this castle is really cool and doesn't "do" much unless it's put all together. I'm also tired of hearing A cry and beg us to put it together AGAIN. A REALLY didn't want to go out. ( "PPlease mommy I just don't want to go out because I had a crappy sleep and I'm tired!" direct from my son!)

But NOOOOO I HAD to drag them out. I should have guessed it would turn out bad. I'm behind a guy trying to do a left hand turn while he's on the cell phone.......he then proceeds to drive about 30 in a 60 zone so I give him a little honk. I wasn't rude just enough to kinda make him realize how slow he's going......he then goes even SLOWER and smiles at me through his mirror. OH you GOT to be KIDDING ME!!!!!! so I try to get into the other lane, he pops in front of me.....ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!! So then I get beside him and roll my window down and tell him to get off his cell phone. I didn't swear, I was really good. Figured that was the end of that. WRONG!I figure I need a coffee so I pull into the HUGHMUNJO (Yes I know it's not a real word)line at TIMMY's and my "friend" pulls up RIGHT behind me. So I get out of the van, he stayed in after I gave him 'THE LOOK" ( I inherited the look of death from my dad) His wife (of course) is sitting in the back seat. I feel about 100 eyes on me (I think they thought I had Timmy's rage- you know, when someone butts into line at Timmy's) EVERYONE is looking at me as I tell him that maybe driving and talking on his cell phone isn't a smart thing if he's a crappy driver to begin with. He points to his wife and child (in the backseat) and said I should slow down. I laughed and said maybe HE should try driving the speed limit. I explained that 60 is the limit and that AMA is just down the street if he wanted to go and sign himself up for lessons.I told him that driving as slow as he was WHILE on his phone is just as bad as speeding. I was actually very nice to him and just raised my voice a bit, as I heard cheering behind me ( just kidding) I went back into the van and cranked up Elvis and ordered my steaming coffee.

Off to the dollar store......SO I pull into the parking lot full of idiots and get out. Now for those of you who know me well know that Bill and I have instilled in our children the fear of death by a car if they go into a parking lot or road without holding our hands( A says that he will get crushed by a car and die. Hmmmmm maybe the fear isn't a good idea?)anyhoo, I take A's hand and get N out and we proceed to the door of the store. WELL, Wonder Woman in her truck that she can't see over the steering wheel, pulls into a parking spot so I stop, WITH BOTH BOYS OBVIOUSLY HOLDING MT HAND!!and she starts backing up so I push both boys behind me and I also back up, then she pulls forward so I start walking and she does it again. So I say out loud "What are you doing???" She was like INCHES from MY BABIES!!! (Now, when it comes to my children and someone is rude or ALMOST RUNS THEM OVER, watch out!)she mouths something as I shake my head and walk in the store......I come down an isle and I see the B---- who can't drive. I ignored her. I was good. I didn't even give her "the look." She mouth "B----" to me, shakes her head and walks down another isle. NO YOU DIDN'T. NOOOOO WAY! SO I whip the bugging around, giving N slight whiplash I'm sure and almost ripping A's arm out of it's socket and walk over to her. Of course she is in the isle by the check out.

"YOU call ME a bitch after nearly running my boys over!" I loudly say

( you gotta understand the location of this $1 store. I NEVER would in my life, be caught dead wearing the dirty, stinky clothes these grubby, RUDE, people who have probably never finished Jr. High school wear out in public. I would fit in real good if I don't wash my hair, skip the deo, maybe run a comb through my hair every once in awhile and get out of my PJ's)

"I was watching you, maybe hold onto your kids hand when your in a parking lot!!!" she says as she gets into my PERSONAL SPACE, DON'T get into my personal space!!!!

"Are you kidding me? I WAS holding their HANDS because drivers like YOU! When you back up you actually have to TURN YOUR HEAD and look through your back window, and maybe get a pillow to sit on so you CAN see through the back window!" I start to walk away and she call's me a bitch. I WHIP around and tell her to shut her dirty mouth in front of my kids. I also added that maybe if she colored her hair properly the grayish yellow wouldn't make her look like such a cranky old lady ( she was maybe in her early 50's. I know it was catty. But it made me feel good after she almost ran over my children)she kept ranting about NOTHING as I walked away with me loudly explaining to A how some people in the world are just lonely and sad and no one likes them because they are rude and mean.

SO I got my glue and payed. They didn't have table salt but they did have plenty of horrible looking fake flowers!!!!

I walk out to my van and see a lady next to me trying to get her kid out of her car so instead of going and getting in her way I put N in his car seat on the other side of the van and then scoot A through the door and then I go around the other way to not get in her way (again) very nice of me. I figured since I ripped 2 faces off already could be nice to a young mom having difficulties getting her kid in the stroller..... so I tell her, very nicely even WITH a genuine smile, to take her time that I was in no rush WELL, the mother who REALLY should be WALKING around the block with the size of HER butt, rolls her eyes and moves the stroller and keeps trying to get her ugly kid in the stroller.....so I say VERY sarcastic.

"Oh it seems like everyone today is so friendly. Have a good day!!!"

I jump into the van and tell the boys that I love them and I'm glad that they make me so happy. I told them that sometimes people are rude amd mean because they don't have a nice family and good friends like we do. We have to feel sorry for them. These people look sad because no one likes them.

So I decided maybe it was a good idea to head home, have lunch and watch some cartoons!
