I'm sitting here enjoying the silence....

waiting for the chaos of a typical day to begin. I couldn't sleep. I was tossing and turning since 5AM and getting pushed further and further off OUR bed from my gentle warriors, as cute as they are. So, I got up and made myself a steaming cup of coffee and peanut butter and toast and I'm sitting in front of the TV watching Canada AM and blogging. Waiting......waiting........to hear the sound of little footsteps....
My arms are KILLING me this morning. I bissled and bissled last night. I LOVE our new rug/furniture cleaner machine thingy! LOOVE IT! Once I started I couldn't stop. I steam cleaned the livingroom carpet, a HUGE cushion from one of our chairs that has been in storage and the couch upstairs in the bonus room. It took me from 7pm-9:30pm. I'm a bit of a clean freak, not because I'm "scared" of germs, I just like a clean house and now I have another tool to feed my addiction. This thing is WONDERFUL. My carpets look like new. We have a beige rug and well, boys! They don't mix well. I think this just might be one of our best investments yet! I now think that I owe my parents a good rug clean. They have a wonderful color brown....brown? I don't know if it's brown but it's a very warm cozy color and in the last 4 1/2 years since the birth of Drew and then Nicky it's seen it's share of dropped food, baby puke, baby pee and poop and now juice boxes and whatever else they eat over there. It's the least I can do. And the Bissel is HUGE and HEAVY so I don't want my mom or dad to lift it. Another reason I love this MONSTER is because I always said I would never be the mom who wouldn't let ther kids play with play-doh or paints and fun kids stuff just for the sake of the house and I plan on keeping that promise. They love playing with all that kind of stuff and it's good for their imagination and good to let them be kids. I remember playing with clay and paints and crayons all the time as a kid. I think it's one of the reasons I lOVE crafts so much. Andrew loves to cut colored paper with sissors. He will sit there and do it for a good hour! There is paper bits everywhere so out comes the vacume, I vacume once a day at least in the kitchen and livingroom but they have fun and thats what matters.

Well, it's 7AM and my babies are still sleeping in peaceful dreamland in OUR warm bed. It's kinda a nice way to start the morning. Alone, hot coffee, toast and Canada AM!
Let the chaos begin!!!!!

Huh, and you thought YOU had a bad day.........

well, I bet yours didn't start like mine did! Our PRECIOUS, PRECIOUS boys are now in the habit of getting up at the crack of dawn, well, around 7AM, it's still early! One of us usually gets up with them if not both. When Bill is working I'm up as soon as one is up. The last little while we have been letting the boys watch cartoons in the bonus room till about 8. Bill usually leaves by then when he is working. Well, today was no different except........
Drew comes into the bedroom at about 8AM. Say's ever so casually, "Nick talked to a lady..."
No response from Bill or I. I see rew staring at me with this weird look on his face (with his mouth COVERED in chocolate by the way.)
"Mommy, did you hear me? Nicky used Daddy's phone and he talked to a lady."
"What did the lady say Bubba?" I asked him thinking he was playing, HUH!
Andrew looks around our room and looks out the window and answers "He told her you and daddy were sleeping, I don't know what she said. But then I talked to her and she said 911."
OH SHIIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bill and I both sit up in bed and Bill grabs his phone, pushes redial YUP Nicky SOME HOW unlocked Bills phone that has 911 automatically set up on speed dial.
I look over at Bill and say something along the lines of us not having to worry because the boys told her we were sleeping THEN I think oh CRAPPPP, When some CHILD calls 911 and says their mommy and daddy are "sleeping" 911thinks we might be passed out from falling, or really injured or worse so Bill calls back right away and explained about his phone and how Nick was able to unlock it and call them. She actually laughed and said thank you for calling back and Bill apologized AGAIN and hung up. Well, OK we laugh it off and I go to take a shower and I hear Bill saying to the boys that they better start cleaning up their horrible mess before mommy sees it so I go into the bonus room were the 3 of them are and see chocolate pudding ALL over the rug, on the couch, all over the train table. NOW Drew's face makes sense! They went into the food closet, put their stool against the shelf and grabbed the box down and helped themselves to "breakfast" 2 each. I was about to give them shit and then I looked at Bill and could tell he was stifling a giggle and I realized that the whole morning was OUR fault not theirs, So we cleaned up the mess and explained about calling 911 when to do it and when not too. SUCH AS THIS MORNING! I looked at the clock and saw that it was 8:33am, crap, Drew's school starts at 9am. I don't have his snack ready, he's still in his PJ's and is COVERED in chocolate pudding and I still have to drive there. Well school was "cancelled" for today. I don't like him missing preschool and even if I'm running late he still goes. I think he missed school only 4 or 5 times last year and only because he was sick. Oh the days not done yet. I put on my wedding rings and realize that my diamond is really loose, loose enough to completely turn it around in it's setting so I take it off ( I always wear my rings and never leave the house without them. Bill bought me a beautiful, a little over a 1K diamond with smaller diamonds down the side when we got engaged) so off we go to our jeweler to get it fixed. Good thing we came by he said, I probably would have lost it. As we are talking Drew bellows out 'Daddy I have too poop so bad!" (because at age 4 1/2 he he doesn't remember the whole concept of "inside voice please.") this would be the time exit from the jewelers as the entire store giggles. Off to do a couple errands for Bill and then we head to Costco to buy a rug cleaner. Yes, we could always borrow one. My brother has one a friend has one but if you live in a household with 3 boys then you would understand my reasoning behind purchasing our own. We probably could have bought one with the amount of money that we have spent on carpet cleaner in the last year. I literally use it ever day, because of spilled food, markers YUP MARKERS! UMMM, pee and vomit oh and lets NOT forget the playdoh with food coloring and chocolate milk and Pepsi from Bill and hot sauce from BILL. So like I said, the day was going really good and Bill decides to buy the boys ice cream from Costco and let them eat it in the truck. Well Andrew ate his up fast but I looked back at Nick, who for once wasn't talking a mile a minute and see he is playing in his ice cream that is ALL OVER him and the truck, it was in his hair, all over his shirt and jeans. Bill adds the comment, "it's a good thing we bought the Bissel cleaner." the look of death I gave him made think twice about making another comment. We head home and as we turn the corner to our house Bill SCREAMS,
"Why is our door open!"
I give myself 4th degree whip lash and sure enough the door is WIIIIDE open.
"Did you leave the door open?"
In my head I'm thinking (as I picture myself ripping his face off) Ya YUP, I thought I would leave the door open. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?!?!?!? DID I LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN?
"Did you forget to lock it?" Bill asks me.
Well sunshine, looks like the wifey isn't perfect. I didn't even answer him.
We get the kids out. Nick is crying in the middle of the driveway because he's "icky" and I'm trying to get him in the house while he's trying to pull his pants off. Andrew comes running out.
"The toys are OK, no one took them!!"
Bill says the phone call from the guy delivering a package we were waiting for makes sense now. Bill didn't understand why the guy asked him if he wanted him to leave the package behind the front door. YA, BEHIND the front door that was wide open for anybody to walk into!
So that was our day. Literally NOT an exaggeration. But really it's not all that different than any other day. The boys keep me on my toes. It actually is funny. They were so loud today at one point that Bill had to tell them to not say a word, they talk NON STOP and it's so loud! Loud for no reason. Even when Drew is telling me a story it's so loud. I tell them time and again about once every 1/2 hr that they don't need to scream at each other or me. But they are cute and it's even cuter when Nicky's new thing to say is "Rock on dude." or "Mommy are you listening to me?"
I guess I can never say it's boring around here. Maybe tomorrow will be a "boring" day. Ya.....right. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

We stopped at car accident.........

it happened right in front of us. A car stopped for a pedestrian and was hit from behind. We pulled over and told the boys to not move. Two young pretty girls about 18 were in the car. The air bags deployed and the driver was couldn't get her door open so she pushed and I pulled and we got her out. Poor thing was really shaken. The passenger was bleeding from her nose and scrathes over her face. I went back to the truck checked on the boys who were fine, and went back to the car with baby wipes for the passenger. The guy who they hit was so worried about them. He was on the phone with 911 and we decided they need to call a ambulance. The passenger semed to be in shock. She was talking to me and told me that she was upset because she was getting blood on her new sweatsuit. I laughed with her and told her that's something that I would have thought about also. She said she wasn't wearing her seatbelt (I DON'T understand people who don't wear seatbelts!!) the window was shattered when her head hit the airbag which hit the windsheald. The driver of the van that was hit called his girlfriend and she came and was standing next to me and we saw the driver who had called her mom, walking up to her mom who had her arms wide open to hug her. I looked at the women next to me and she said "Oh poor thing is so upset!" she had tears in her eyes and I said to her how I have 2 boys and when stuff like this happens it makes me think of them and how much you try to protect them sometimes things happen that are out of our control and she said she felt the same way, she too also has 2 boys. DON'T BE AN IDIOT. WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!

We Have 2 Little Gentle Warriors.........

who each have very different personalities. I remember the moment that the doctor brought Nick over to see me after he was born and thinking, "He doesn't look like Drew"! I don't know what I was expecting. I just kinda thought he would have brown hair and olive skin, but Nick looks like Nick!! I love that about him. To this day he has very fair skin, blonde hair and blue/light brown eyes and a temper like his daddy. I/we never worried about if I would have "enough love" for both my babies....I just do. I love that Drew is very thoughtful and I appreciate that even at age 4 1/2 he is a deep thinker and some of the things he says just blows me away that someone his age can think those things. I sometimes see him looking out a window or staring at something and wonder what he's thinking about......I love that he's so huggy and that he will just say I love you out of the blue! I love that Nick is my BABY baby. He's our last one. He's so funny and I love that he can be so shy like me. Today Bill brought Drew to school so I had Nick all to myself for the morning. I love when we each take one boy and have alone time with each of them and I think it's impotant for them to have that one on one time. Today I turned off the T.V. and turned on the music and we played countless games of the FROGGY with Nicky cheating majority of the time and I loved it. Then he ran off and came back with a couple of books and we sat on the floor and read them, I love reading books to them. Nick is getting better at sitting and listening instead of talking through the whole story!Bill came home with Drew and I made the boys some homemade play-doh (which I LOVE b/c it lasts forever and never dries out!) anyhoo, later on in the day I still had the music blasting and I was doing some laundry and Nick walked up to me and I picked him up to hug him and a good song came on and we started to dance.....we danced for about 3 or 4 songs and he had hi head laying on my chest the whole time. I held him not wanting to let go. I told myself to treasure this moment. My Nicky won't remember it but I will never forget it. It's one of so many times that I feel so BLESSED to be a mom and to be able to love our boys. I adore them. I love them. I really LIKE them. I don't understand how some parents like one child more than the other? It really makes me sad not only for the parents but for the kids! I really love them each the same. I love them for different reasons but I love them the same. I ALWAYS wanted 2 boys. People often ask me if I wished I had a girl or are we trying for a girl. The answer is NO and NO!!! I honestly wanted 2 BOYS! I NEVER wanted a girl and NO I DON'T "just" say it because I have 2 boys. I don't "just" say it because I don't want one of them to feel bad. I REALLY WANTED 2 LITTLE WARRIOR'S!
I was meant to be a mom. I was meant to be a mom to Andrew Peter and Nicholas Wilhelm Prinsen and a wife to wilhelm Guy Eggebrecht Prinsen. I will forever days like today were it seems like all I did was LOVE my boys. Sometimes I feel like the days are too short, the house is too messy and the boys are too grumpy and then I think of days like today. When the boys come up to me and hug me or say " I LOVE YOU" out of the blue then I know that the boys know that they are loved!

Mistakes

I've tried to fix my spelling errors on my last posting and CAN'T!!

God Bless the Little Chinese woman.......

who I see EVERY morning that I'm up early (like the one morning @ 6:30 AM, I kid you not, that I realized that I had NO milk for my morning coffee. NOT a good thing. More about that later) doing tai chi. She is covered head to toe in hat, pants and runners and scarf. I see her either walking or doing tai chi. I swear she must be a 110 years old but she looks about 30. She's so cute. She walks like there is a fire under her butt and watching her do her exercises shit gramma can move! I just wanna pinch her cheeks. I see a tiny chinese man the same age as "Gramma" so about a 110 who JOGS, yup he JOGS. Oh bless his soul. I think there's gotta be something there with the green tea and royal jelly (royal jelly......that's chinese right?) maybe I should start up tai chi, royal jelly and eating puppies.

Now about coffee. My morning starts like this. After a night of earplug wearing b/c Bill snores so loud I could murder him. I actually think there should be a law passed for murder when a husband SNORES as loud as he does. Between 7- 7:30 am I'm woken up with Andrews foot in my face (he jumps in bed somewhere in the early morning) and Nick at the side of the bed almost screaming, "Mommy choc milk!!!!" ok I'M UP. I'M UP! I stumble out of bed b/c anyone who knows me knows I'm NOT a morning person, but the last 4 1/2 years I am, I have NO choice. I kiss my boys all over their faces, rip off Nicks pull up and head right down the stairs to make Andrew toast "Peanut butter on bottom and honey on top." Nick "Toast and choc!" and of course "MILK!" then I put the COFFEE on and pop in toast for myself. I LOVE peanut butter also, yummy! We go up to the bonus room and watch a couple cartoons and I BLISSFULLY drink my wonderful HOT coffee. I really LOVE my coffee and my day doesn't start until I have coffee. I then PROCEED back downstairs to start cleaning up the kitchen, sweep, do a couple loads of laundry and head out the door to start our day. Today we walked to the park and hung out there for a couple hours and then came home and played outside on the boys bikes which is PRICELESS. I actually had to go over and kiss them both b/c they were so cute. Then we had an early supper, watched a bit of tv and they fell asleep with Bill in Drews bed, yes ALL THREE of them. Boring blog today ah whatever.

Ok my boys......

your mom is a REAL girly girl and I will always be and NO apologies form me!!! I always have been and always will be! I LOVE pink and anything with sparkles. I have an ADDICTION to coloured lip gloss and I love wearing make up. I feel like I'm not totally dressed until I have some perfume on. I also adore ALL kids of jewelry! I love looking at fashion magazines. I love to shop, OH I love to shop, but I hate paying a lot of money for stuff. I will wait until something go on sale. I look at the magazines to see whats in style for the season and then buy at local stores like Winners and the mall stores. I HAVE to have my nails and toes painted and I like crazy colours. I HAVE to wear lipstick when I'm out! ( I can thank my mom for that one!) I like nice shoes. Cute socks in the winter. I discovered Value Village they have some really neat stuff!! I love second hand stores! I hate to cook but I love good food-again thanks to my mom! I love to do crafts. I'm ADDICTED to scrapbooking. I'm ADDICTED to reading books. I love going to the library and getting a really good book and a huge stack of magazines and sitting down on the couch for the evening going through them. I LOVE being a mom and watching you grow and as of right now spit on each other and beat the crap out of one another. UHGGGGGG! I enjoy "camping" but I hate being dirty. I've "let it go" the whole trying to keep you boys clean at all times. I REALLY like having a clean house too bad your dad isn't so kean on the idea, sigh. I feel really grateful that I can stay home with you boys full time. I love our new house and that we have lots of room for you to play. And make a huge mess. Oh and we can't forget that I ADORE, LOVE LOVE LOVE Elvis Presley. I love your dad (most days) I love that he works so hard. I love when he hugs me it feels really safe. It's neat that we have the same goals. We have the same hopes for both of you. I love watching him hug and kiss you. It drives me up the bend and back again how much he teases but I prefer that to being a stick in the mud. I love the families we have on my side and you dads side.
Just remember what I tell you DAILY as you scream and yell, spit, hit and cry, chase trip and hang out with each other......BROTHERS FOR LIFE. FRIENDS FOREVER!!!!!

I am a mom. I will now ALWAYS have guilt....

about my boys. I think it is in our nature as mothers to feel SOME sort of guilt about how we mother. If I yell at the boys I have instant guilt (well, Unless they need a good yell!) If I am sick and have a lazy day I feel GUILT b/c I think I haven't spent enough time with them. I should have read them a book, taken them for a walk. Oh I could go onnnnnnnn. I was reading a blog of a very sweet woman who has guilt over a ACCIDENT that happened with her child and she was talking about the guilt she feels over it. I want so badly for her to be able to heal from that. She is such a wonderful person. Not that men don't have these feelings but I really don't think they have them as much as women do and over the reasons we feel guilt. Like forgetting to kiss your son good-bye on his way into school....I think my family is a little different in that I have a dad and brother who are quite in tuned with women's emotions and I think it stems from my Papa (my grandfather) who was very in tuned to my grandmother, he also helped out around the house which back in the day was VERY unusual and MY dad saw that and he is very much a product of my Papa. And my brother also, he doesn't think twice about cooking, cleaning etc. Plus he lived with me! And I must admit I am a REAL girly girl. My dad still gets sad over a picture of me taken when I was in kindergarten and I had been WEEPING about getting my photo taken, I was PAINFULLY shy- Ya I know WHAT happened, well, I married Bill. He still gets a funny feeling in his heart when he sees it. I think that is so sweet. My brother and sis in law gave me a card when Drew was born that says something along the lines of, "Once your child is born you walk around with your heart outside of your body" how true! I'm lucky to have a husband who as much as he can DRIVE ME AROUND THE BEND, he too understands how my head works and how sometimes just looking at our boys makes me want to cry. Bill is very much a MAN. He's tall, big, rough and tough and if you don't know him well just looking at him you might get the impression that he is well, mean. He's not. Some stuff he might tell me to "toughen up" but for the most part he is a big teddy bear. Running me baths when I have PMS from hell. Making me leave the house and go out to have a coffee and read my book somewhere in peace. He hugs and kisses our boys, and tells them daily he loves them. He even cries at sad movies! I love that our boys will be brought up with kisses from their big daddy.

I dropped Drew off at preschool for his first day. He was sooo excited to see all his buddies. I really have a beautiful boy(s). Watching him I felt so proud of how nice he is to other kids, he seemed a little shy almost so yup, my heart felt a little sad. Man I LOVE my kids to death! As he walked away holding his buddies hand he looked back at me and said "bye mommy. I love you!" Hmmmmm, ok, FORGIVEN for the next 5 years of all wrong doing! I felt PRIDE. How much longer will he yell out that he loves me while in a group of all his buddies. ( I can hear Billy saying, " He better not be holding his buddies hand a few yrs from now in school!")

So off to start the day!

To Blog or To Not Blog That Was MY Question...

well, I guess you know the answer now. I'M A BLOGGER! I'm a avid scrapbooker and reader and a BUSY mom and really thought I wouldn't have time for this. I have been keeping a diary for each boy since I was 4 months pregnant with each of them. I tell them how I'm feeling about what is going on in my life, how much I love them, funny things they have done, days I want to put them out with the days trash. So the more I thought about starting up a blog the more I thought that a blog is a good idea because I can use it as an open diary for THEM. Although I told Bill that I would keep really personal feelings and thoughts for the hand written diaries that I keep for them each. I figure every couple of months I can print off the blog and stick it in a binder for the boys to read one day......but really, are 2 boys (men) REALLY going to want to read their mothers ranting and ravings when they hear it everyday? Maybe their wives will. Oh, the wives of my boys, THAT will be another posting. I can picture my poor dad sitting in his office opening up my blog, with one eye open peeking through his hands and sighing with relief when he notices that I'm NOT a blogger who will reveal EVERY aspect of my life. I promise! When I told my dad that I started a blog his response was, " I don't read blogs but I might read yours because you are my daughter." (with a smile) Hmmm, well, ok. If my own father doesn't read blogs why would anyone else. That's when I figured it really isn't about if anyone reads it, it's for my boys. (I know my dad will be the one who ends up checking it everyday!!!!)
I've been reading a lot of peoples blogs and boy some stuff people write. I blush reading them. I promise to not be one of "those" bloggers. But then some write these fantastic tales about their lives and they are so descriptive and beautiful. Ah, whatever. I'll just do my thing and hope that one day when the boys get older they will get a chuckle and roll their eyes. Or blush when I tell funny stories about them speaking of funny stories.... I took Drew with me the other day to do a couple things and we were in London Drugs ( LOVE London Drugs) we were walking past a Lady who reaaaaaaaaally wasn't all there and you could tell. Drew kept looking at her and she at Drew so I try to walk by quickly and Drew is pulling on my hand and just LOOKING at this lady. I'm thinking he is going to belt out something about the way she looks or ask why she walks funny but he gives me this strange look with his huge brown eyes, crinkled brow and says. "Mommy, how come that lady has whiskers ALL over her face only boys have whiskers right?" OHHH out of the mouths of babes....but I could have made some GOOOOOD money waxing that "lady." I guess it's right up there with Nick grabbing my boob in line at Save On Foods and saying "mommy's boobies!!" How do I end a posting after writing THAT!
